Serving Hardy County Since 2023

The Humane Society of Hardy County (HSHC) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Hardy County, West Virginia. Our mission is to reduce the number of local stray and feral animals while enhancing the health of our communities and providing for those animals that may be adopted to a safe, nurturing, and healthy environment.

As a new organization, we need community support to help reach our goals, which include:

Place animals in foster and adoptive homes

Establish a shelter to house animals awaiting foster or adoption

Find passionate volunteers to support our mission

Donations to fund veterinary services, food and litter

Reduce the feral cat population through an aggressive spay/neuter program

Promote awareness of responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and the importance of spaying and neutering

Our Vision

We envision a community where every animal is valued and treated with kindness, where stray and feral populations are managed responsibly, and where every pet has the opportunity to live a happy, healthy life. By working together with our community, we believe we can create a brighter future for animals in Hardy County.
